Where Can I Get Help If I Have Sustained a TBI From a Motorcycle Accident?

Riding motorcycles is a free and liberating hobby, but other motorists can make it an unsafe one. One of the most unexpected and devastating things that can happen to a motorcyclist is a motorcycle accident. Sometimes after an accident, motorcyclists may face traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), leaving their families and themselves unsure of where to turn next. Fortunately, there are resources available to help motorcycle accident survivors and their families.

The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) is the largest brain injury advocacy organization in the country. As part of its mission statement, the BIAA exists to advance treatment of TBIs, research, and bring education to individuals living with TBIs as well as their families. The BIAA can help accident survivors and families find information and community support for TBIs.

What Resources Can Help People With a TBI?

Individuals who have sustained a brain injury and their families may not be aware they have resources available to help them. Resources that can help include guides on selecting legal representation, how to find financial resources for students with brain injuries and how to handle financial issues. The BIAA is also a good source of information for pending and current legislation created to help those who have sustained TBIs.
