Christmas In July Came With A Rumble

Christmas time is a season of cheer and good will toward your fellow man, woman and child. So is it any wonder that people all over America try to keep that spirit going all year around? It’s that spirit that started the tradition of Christmas in July, but children in need benefit from that spirit more than anyone else.

Christmas In July Came With A Rumble

The Silver Springs-Martin Luther School is a place of refuge for abused and neglected children. The school gives these kids special treatment so they can move past the trauma in their lives and return home. The staff and volunteers at this school provide a nurturing environment for these disadvantaged children, but they weren’t the only community members who wanted to help.

The Hogs and Honeys motorcycle group and the Centurions motorcycle club came together to co-sponsor a Christmas in July event. They wanted the kids at the Martin Luther School to know that there are people out there who care. So these motorcyclists gathered toys, saddled up their bikes, and rode in dressed up like Santa Claus in the middle of July.

Around 200 bikers came in to give gifts and let kids see their fantastic motorcycles. After the event, the kids sent thank you cards to the bikers, thanking them for the toys. Some of the kids even said they wanted to ride motorcycles when they grew up.

Motorcycling is about more than the freedom of the open road. It’s also about helping others. Whether you help give kids Christmas in July, or help protect kids from harm, your efforts are appreciated. Do you do something special to help your community? Here in Fort Collins, your motorcycling attorneys go to great lengths to help Realities For Children. This charity helps the abused and neglected kids of Larimer County just like the Silver Springs-Martin Luther School helps kids in Montgomery County. What do you do in your community?
