Couple Dies In Dallas Motorcycle Accident

According to a recent report by the Dallas News, a couple died in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, January 1 around 3 p.m. The 54- and 60-year-olds were riding their motorcycle near the 6700 block of North Shiloh Road. A motorist in a 2002 Mercury Sable allegedly did not check for oncoming traffic before exiting a parking garage. The motorist then pulled onto the road and swerved into the path of the motorcycle.

Emergency crews promptly arrived to the scene and escorted the injured motorcyclists to the Medical City Dallas Hospital. The 60-year-old spouse died the day of the accident and the 54-year-old husband died the following morning. The motorist was uninjured. Garland police are still investigating the accident; however, it is likely that another motorist entering the parking garage blocked the view of oncoming traffic. Even then, a responsible motorist would have waited until the road was visible before safely entering traffic.
