In order to keep up the good work, here are some things Colorado drivers can do to avoid Denver car accidents.

• Stay updated. Find a list of Denver events that you can check regularly. If there is a big concert or festival going on, plan an alternate route or prepare for stop-and-go traffic.
• Plan directions in advance. Denver is a popular city for young, tech-savvy transplants. New residents and smartphones can be a dangerous combination. Resist the urge to use Google Maps in the middle of downtown during rush hour. Instead, program your trip ahead of time.
• Stay alert. Especially in warmer months, keep an eye out for cyclists and pedestrians. They have the right of way.
• Watch for motorcycles. The winding roads and beautiful scenery make Colorado an ideal home for bikers. When the snow melts, motorcycles are everywhere – and sometimes hard to see. Look twice at intersections to avoid a motorcycle accident.

Patience is a virtue when driving in highly populated areas like Denver and Colorado Springs. Avoid brash decisions in high-traffic areas, allow pedestrians to cross in front of you and resist the urge to use electronic devices while driving.
