Here at the Metier Law Firm, we like to do more than just ride. We like to help. That’s why we go the extra step and participate in events like Reality Ride for Children, Forever Family Ride, and Children’s Hospital Toy Run. It’s important to give back to the community and help those who are less fortunate, and that’s why it’s awesome to see other bikers helping out, too.
Have You Ever Heard Of Bikers Against Child Abuse?
The members of Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) are an international group of motorcyclists who are also going the distance to help those who are less fortunate then themselves. Members volunteer their time, bikes, and intimidating looks to helping children who have been victims of child abuse, and you might not believe the lengths they will go to in order to help these kids.
What Does BACA Do?
These bikers are on call 24/7 for these kids. If one of these children need help with their homework, a BACA rider will be there. If a child is scared their abuser will come after them in the middle of the night, BACA riders will stand guard over their house. If a child has to face their abuser in court, the local BACA chapter will show up to court to show its support. This motorcycle group is a tight family, looking out for others, but it doesn’t let just anyone into the group.
To protect the children BACA helps, the organization screens new members very carefully. It scours prospective members’ backgrounds to make sure they haven’t been involved with domestic violence or abuse. And even if they check out, new members still have to be rough and tough bikers to make the cut.
This group of amazing people not only break the biker stereotype, they protect kids who need support in tough times. However, they aren’t the only bikers doing their part to help their neighbors.
