Our Colorado News is reporting that an October 8 motorcycle accident has left Dave Turley, the mayor of Woodland Park, Colorado, severely injured. The accident happened on Tarryall Road. It was not reported whether there were other vehicles involved and no one else was reported to have been injured in the wreck. In addition, authorities had not yet released the cause of the crash at the time of this report.
“The mayor was wearing a good helmet and appropriate outerwear but was still pretty scraped up, in addition to his other injuries,” the mayor’s trainer told Our Colorado News.
The mayor suffered five broken ribs, including some broken in multiple places, and a partially collapsed lung in the accident. He was taken to Pikes Peak Regional Hospital and Surgery Center for treatment after the wreck.
Mayor Turley posted an update about his condition on his Facebook page. In the posting, he mentioned that even with the Morphine he was receiving, he was still in major pain. In addition, the mayor mentioned to his trainer that all indications are that he could be in for an eight-week recovery process.
