Our Wyoming and Colorado Accident Lawyers Urge Patience While Riding

Police and witnesses say that road rage may have contributed to a recent motorcycle and truck accident in Knoxville.

The accident occurred on Clinton Highway on Sunday, February 24. A large truck crashed into a motorcycle rider, and the rider was transported to a hospital for treatment. Witnesses said that it looked like the truck intentionally crashed into the motorcycle and then drove away. Police are still searching for the driver.

About Road Rage

Road rage is a persistent problem on roads everywhere. Research from Response Insurance shows that 50 percent of drivers who feel slighted by other drivers respond in some way to their offenders. Of those, the most common forms of retaliation include:

  • Honking (34 percent)
  • Yelling (27 percent)
  • Giving middle finger (19 percent)
  • Flash headlights (17 percent)
  • Mimic the aggressive behavior (7 percent)
  • Try to run the offender off the road (2 percent)

Those last two items are the most disturbing. When you respond to a negligent driver in a heightened emotional state, you create a serious risk for yourself and every other driver on the road – not just the one who made you angry in the first place.

If you know someone  who was seriously injured because another driver could not control his or her anger, talk to us. Negligent drivers might owe damages to victims and victims’ family members to compensate for pain, suffering, loss of loved ones and medical bills. We have litigated many motorcycle accident cases on behalf of injured riders, and we would like to hear your story. Call (866) 377-3800 to schedule a free consultation today.
