Drag Racing at the Mopar Mile-High Might Just Blow Your Socks Off

The festivities started off last night at the Mopar Mile-High Block Party! Willie B.—Denver’s resident Mopar fanatic and KBPI 106.7 FM radio host—once again emceed the event, but he definitely wasn’t the main attraction. Fiat-Chrysler of America debuted it’s insane 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon with tents, special displays, and racing. Mopar drivers Matt Hagan and Leah Pritchett faced off in a match race featuring the new Demons, but that was just a taste of what is coming this weekend.

Last year, Allen Johnson tied a record held only by Bob Glidden and John Force when he won at the Mile-High last year. The odds were stacked against him, but somehow his team managed to pull out the win. This year, Johnson has been steadily building up, turning a poor start to the 2017 season into a strong showing. He hopes that swell will include a win at the Mile-High, which would break a record held by two NHRA legends. Do you think he’ll make history?
