A 79-year-old South Carolina man died on April 5 due to traumatic brain injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident on March 17. The man was in a stable condition but was overtaken by hemorrhaging in his brain that the doctors could not control. The hemorrhaging was ultimately caused by the injuries the man sustained from the motorcycle accident the previous month.
It was a clear and sunny on the St. Patrick’s Day that the man was traveling south on South Carolina Highway 225 when he collided with a Pontiac. The driver of the Pontiac attempted to make a left hand turn, and the victim swerved but was unable to avoid the collision. The driver of the Pontiac was also seriously injured and had to be rushed to Self-Regional Medical Center for treatment while the motorcycle victim was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Regrettably, these types of accidents happen all too often. Too many drivers of passenger cars fail to notice motorcycles in their vicinity. If you or someone you love sustained a brain injury in a motorcycle accident or any other crash caused by another party’s negligence, you may be entitled to compensation.
