Two Women Die, Child Injured in Colorado Springs Car Accident

Two women were crossing a five-lane road. One of them was pushing her child a stroller. An SUV came around the corner and was not able to stop in time. Both women died in the accident, and the child in the stroller sustained injuries.

The accident happened around 8 am, and many witnesses saw the accident take place. Some witnesses expressed concern about speeding vehicles coming around that corner, along with a history of accidents in the area.

One man, Royce Barber, said that he saw two accidents near the site in previous weeks and “the aftermath of a few more in the past month.” He and other witnesses said that a steep hill, a blind curve and a lack of stoplights in the area drastically increase the risk of fatal car accidents.

Police said that the 14-month-old infant is expected to survive. They have not mentioned whether the SUV driver will face charges.

This is a horrible accident, and we hope that the city can take some measures to reduce the accidents that take place in that area.
