It was March 7th, the riding season had just begun, and a couple from Grand Junction were enjoying their ride among the hills of North Dakota when disaster struck. The wife and mother of two crashed and suffered 12 broken ribs and a brain injury that left her in a coma. She was rushed to the hospital where friends and family surrounded her with love and affection, but an unexpected call may have been a bigger help than anyone imagined.
Unexpected Well Wishes For A Motorcycle Accident Victim
The woman was originally airlifted to St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND but was later transported to the Swedish Medical Center in Denver. For two weeks she fought through not only her injuries but blood clots, a bladder infection and MRSA. Her husband waited by her bedside, hoping that she would soon awaken from her coma, but the days were stretching on, and then he received a phone call.
“Yes, this is Peyton Manning…” The person on the line told the ailing woman’s husband.
Retired Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had heard through the grapevine that one of the Broncos biggest fans had been injured in a motorcycle accident, and he sprang into action. After a conversation with the husband, Manning got to talk to the still unconscious woman. He wished her well, and told her she was in his thoughts and prayers.

A few days later, the family announced on the woman’s GoFundMe page that she has finally awakened from her coma! Though she cannot talk yet, she has been able to mouth words and use hand gestures to her loved ones. As her therapy continues, well-wishers from all over the country—and at least one Denver Bronco—can’t wait to see this lady on her feet again.
